My theory is...that the love between a mom and her child is the strongest love of all. I am not saying that you can not completely love your husband, But it is totally a different kind.

Well all I have to say is a childs life is more important than any adult, I do not think this is a question of which love is stronger, but rather which life is more important.
Because a Husband and Wife's love for each other should be the strongest, otherwise God would not compare his love for us as that to a man and his wife :).
A child has yet to live while an adult has lived a lot of his/her life. So it is no question rescue the child, at least I would want my spouse to save our child rather than me.(though I have no children this is only a when I have a child thought :) )

This is so strange....I was just talking about this with a friend the other night!
I have told my husbands that I would save my children first. I can replace the husband but not the kids!!

Without question, I would save the life of my children
I would save my children over my husband because my children defenseless, and are most precious to me, and I have a maternal, instinctive gut reaction to save, and protect them from harm; whereas my husband is a grown man, and has lead a full, and well traveled life, and is capable of protecting himself.
I definitely wouldn't be happy about this choice; it would sadden me greatly, however I would ultimately be at peace knowing that I saved my children, and that they're alive, and well.

i would save my child
well i have nothing against saving husbands its just that its harder getting pregnant, conceiving then letting it die
besides the husband already had the chance to experience life, the child still has a future to see. i can still mold my child. we paved the way to give life to our child, im sure my husband if he is a sane man would let me save our child first than him, otherwise he is mad

I hope I will never be in that situation, but if it did come up I would want to save my child's life. I wouold want my husband to do the samething.

I don't have kids, nor do I particularly want them. However, I do place a fairly high value on human life, so I'd save whoever was more saveable. If they were both in the same amount of peril, I guess I'd save the kid, since they've got more life ahead of them.
