ok so i jus bought a used xr 100...it's been threw heck....and im not sure if the cdi box is wired right or what......has any 1 ever made 1 run with out the cdi box..or started it up wit like a jumper or sumthing....i been at it for about 2 days now....pleaze send anwsers...thanxs

Chances are your problem isn't the CDI. They seldom fail. There is no test for one either, you check everything else and if all else is fine then you replace it as a last resort. Most places will not do a return on electrical parts so don't just throw parts at it.
XR100's are some of the most reliable, rock solid bikes built. Start with the simple things. Work out from there.

no you can not run a bike with out the cdi box, I wish th ecdi for my bike is $500 I had to purchase one. If it does ahve one just make sure the wires are color to color, you might want to buy some tube connectors if they aren't.

Don't be jumping out wires trying to make it run. Chances are very good you will burn something else out. Get a manual so you will know what you are doing.
If all else fails, go to a repair facility and ask the service manager or repairman. Sometimes they will help hoping to get future business. Good luck. Pops

I don't think so look on ebay for one you may want to get a manual for it to to make sure you wired right
