Umm...by definition, aren't all bones made of the same substance? And if that is true, isn't the answer: There is no strongest bone, they all have a breaking point at the same equal level becuase human bones are all equal, the strongest bone then depends on the situation. A bone in situation A, may break in situation B right? And doesn't it depend on the person and the nutrients provided? Too many variables, and not specific enough to answer this question.

Femur --- but pray tell what does this have to do with dining out unless your name is Hannible Lechter?

Someone said Bartleby said it was the temporal bone..but go look at what it says for the femur--

The femur (Figs. 244, 245), the longest and strongest bone in the skeleton, is almost perfectly cylindrical in the greater part of its extent.

Interesting question. After confirming my first choice with some experts in skeletal anatomy, the title "strongest" bone in the body goes to one of the bones that make up your skull, called THE TEMPORAL BONE. It's the very dense, hard bone on the side of your head that surrounds the inner part of your ear. If you want to see pictures, you can visit a website I found that has the famous, classic anatomy text, Gray's Anatomy available online:

Some people say jaw, pelvis, and skull. But its the femur. The femur is the longest and strongest bone in the body. It is located in your thigh.

The bones in your head. They protect the most vital organ of all the brain. It is similar to an air bag that is able to withstand large amounts of pressure. The circular shape gives it the added strength. Lastly these bones are very dense. No wonder people say ,"Stop bieng so damn hardheaded!".
