good question. i have no answers. i don't know why jerry falwell detests muslims and gays. i don't know why pat roberson wants supreme court justices murdered.

It is a huge generalization to say 'all' anything / any group are mean spirited. I guess all mexicans are lazy, all black are in jail or about to, and all white people like polka music?
I go back and forth on who I vote for in elections, and certainly am not a Bush guy, but to be honest with you, I have never seen in my life more negativity and hate towards the Bush camp (by liberals) than in any time in the last 20 years. Republicans mean spirited....maybe some are, but in general you should look at the liberals and their flat out hate for the Bush camp.

I think your question should read: "Why are Democrats so mean-spirited?"
Republicans have been bending over backwards to appease Democrats on many issues for years, yet all we hear from the Left are things like "Bush is Hitler," "Republicans Suck," "Bush is the Devil," etc. I hear 100 times more negativity and vitriol from Democrats than I have EVER heard from Republicans.
