There are several banks that do not do chexsystems. If you are in Texas, try First National Bank Texas or First Convienence Bank. A caution though, some of these banks are fee based and if you are not responsible with your acct. (constantly negative) they can spell trouble with overdraft fees and minimum balance requirement fees. Otherwise they may be an excellent option to other banks that can charge a fee just for being on chexsystems.

ChexSystems contains specific account information about consumers who were forced to close their accounts as a result of nonpayment, overdrafts, or bounced checks.
ChexSystems also contains the names of account holders who reported lost or stolen checks. This information is provided to the banks in order to prevent losses against a closed account.
Another criterion for placement into the ChexSystem would be an attempt to open more then one account within a period of three months. This type of data allows financial institutions to highlight probable account theft and money laundering.
This scam usually works by flipping cash between accounts while writing bad checks against them before the actual “flip” takes place. The way financial institutions operate today requires them to consult the ChexSystem before granting rights to open a new account. They simply access the database to check if your name is contained in the records. If so, your plans of walking away with a new account have just been deprived. The next step for financial institutions is to dig up information on the causes of your negative record. They simply call the ChexSystems service hotline or make an inquiry online. ChexSystems responds with a report which gives the bank your complete and detailed account status. More specifically, they release information about your outstanding debts, checks, payment plans, account inquiries, closures, and of course, preliminary background checks of your social security and driver license numbers.
ChexSystem claims to have no relation to the decision process of being placed in their database. They neither approve nor deny new account openings to financial institutions, but simply act as a storage medium, a messenger and a liaison between many different banks.
