I have a big race tommarow, and i dont think im ready! I usually compete for first, but I feel like im going to compete for 10th! My mom says its just butterflies, but i would feel alot more comfortable if i had things that i could do to prepare myself better. I already took an ice bath and stretched, but what now?? HELP RUNNER EXPERTS!

don't worry about it!! all i would do is go to sleep, and take it easy. theres nothing you can really do. just when you're going to your race, just be cool. sometimes it's a bit good to be even a little spacey. i don't know about you. but just tell yourself how good you're gonna do. make yourself happy with tenth and then just go crazy and WIN!!!!


i used to be so afraid of losing. and thats all that happened. and now i realized that if i'm "one with the race" i will run like the wind.

I like to prepare by listening to classical music before a race, it helps me clear my head. You've done the training, you've done your pre-race stretching, thats all you can really do. Just go out there and run your best! Once the starting gun goes off, you will forget all about the pre race jitters.
