You know, I grew up in a semi-liberal house, and growing my mom always taught me that it was wrong to discriminate, and so, I always used to be pretty liberal about the whole subject, that is until I actually seen 2 men kiss and it honestly, made me physically sick at my stomach, I vomited. I wasn't raised to be predujuice or anything, I never thought I was against it until that point. But I have to say, it's gross, it's against nature, and I don't care what quack says what, I don't believe anyone was born gay. I understand now a days you're supposed to be all politically correct and all that, but I'm sorry, it's gross. However, I'd rather them stay gay, then change their mind and spread disease. I'm against Gay marriage, and these TV shows that show these gays on them, I think they should be outlawed to. It's wrong to discriminate based on race, or disability, but Gay is sick!!!

A gay couple should be able to marry, yes. There are a lot of reasons that make encouraging marriage good public policy.

As for marrying a sister, there are, again, public policy reasons why this is bad; primarily having to do with children. If it's a gay marriage to a sister, I'm not sure how much the answer changes.

You can't marry your cat, nor can you have sex with your cat. Your cat can't consent. Leave your cat alone.

By the way, what's traditional marriage? In some traditions, it's for a limited time. In others, it's as many wives, slaves, and cattle as a man can support. In others, it's multiple husbands. The concept of marriage for love is rather recent, basically from victorian times. At it's essence, marriage is a method of property transfer. That's the state's role. The state does not "sanctify" anything. The state does have laws about property, and allowing committed couples to marry is a role of the state that should be available to all adults. (And if it's not available, I want a break in my taxes...why should I pay full taxes if I don't get full citizenship?)

Committed homosexual partners should be able to attain some of the rights of married heterosexual partners, but without calling it a marriage, but rather a civil union. As for the sister, perhaps a civil union would not be so bad there. But as for the cat, you would have a hard time getting the cat to say "I do."
