Yeah... I knowses, wierd title. Anyways... first off,
my hamster has kind of a crusty yellow thing on his belly. It doesn't seem to give pain and there are no other symptoms, I just need to know if I should, you know, be worried.

And second of all, I picked up my hamster once without looking, and he got all scared so I dropped him and he was making a scary noise and sprinting all over the place... I mean, how he was, it was like ZIP across the cage. He stopped, then ran again, over and over again and finally stopped, traumatized. What is this, or what could've happened?

I already thought of the possibility of picking him up by his eyelid, but why the wierdness instead of a hamster yelp and biting my finger a' something?

I just want to add that I haven't mistreated him and don't have the heart to do so, btw. I care for him as best as I can and in return he's the best hamster a girl could ever ask for.

When I dropped him, he was about 2 inches above ground and he was still inside his cage. I wouldn't drop him on the ground. He just freaked out...

Hamsters can be very mean! (Rats make better pets). ALWAYS let him know you are there, never sneak up on them, they will give a nasty sound usually roll over on their backs and freak out. They are solitary animals, not in their nature to be "friendly" although if treated right they can be great! Maybe just a little wound on his belly? Rodents can get growths very easy so keep an eye on it!

What do you mean by picking him up by his eyelid? The best thing you can do - if you trust him is to put your hand down and let him walk onto it. If not, put a cup down and gently scoop him up and then put him in your hand. ALWAYS let him know you are there before doing anything!

When I was 5 I got bit by a hamster and it's teeth went through my finger nail and even at that age I knew it was not right to drop it on the ground so I carried it to its cage three rooms away. I made sure it was safe and then took my bleeding little finger to my grandma. Please be careful with it and leave it alone if you cant handle it right.

I can't tell what your question is but the answer I'll give you is that you should not own a hamster. If you dropped it and it acted like that you may have injured it causing internal bleeding or broken bones. If it has a "crusty yellow thing" on it try wiping it clean so you can tell if it is from an injury.
