Supreme Court judges are nominated by the President and approved by the Senate.

Senators submit a list of recommended nominees to the President.

So the best way to become a Supreme Cout judge is to become a remarkable politician or judge in one state or the federal court of one state and get nominated by that State's Senator of the same party as the sitting president.

Let me make some things clear here! It's *NOT* the law, nor in the constitution that the legislature gets to approve judges.

The President appoints whoever he wants. The debates and hearings are nothing but a show that the president puts on so as not to anger the congress. It's NOT the law. The President can assign whoever he wants.

The President appoints a Supreme Court Justice and the Senate approves the appointment.

You'd just as well use the correct terminology. The president nominates supreme court justices when there is a vacancy. The senate rejects or confirms the nominee by majority vote.

You are in college and you do not understand how judges get onto the supreme court? They are nominated by the president, then they go the judicial committee hearings, then the committe votes, and then it goes to a full vote in the senate.
