don't be silly
there were many successful missions to the moon
only one launch intended for the moon (apollo 13) didn't land but instead, due to technical problems orbited the moon and returned
if the american people and the american government wanted to fund another moon mission then it would happen
as it is, nobody is interested
it is completely ridiculous to think that all the moon missions were faked, there were thousands of people involved in the operation and they could not all be duped or bought
there are several websites that clearly debunk all the silly conspiracy theorists who claim they have things that refute the moon landings
perhaps the most thorough is:
http://www.clavius.org/
the russians carefully tracked the moon shots all the way to the moon (I was alive then, I watched the landings, and I remember the cold war -- the russians would have loved to embarrass the united states
they never claimed it was a fake
the moon landings returned with lots of moon rocks that have been studied by geologists all over the world for many years
all of these geologists, after much study, believe the rocks are from the moon
do a little research
this is not a question that is up for debate
doubting the moon landings is on a par with doubting the existance of Japan (perhaps they faked World War 2 also)

I think it was good to visit another world and learn something about it. Several people made it to the Moon and returned safely. There is no reason to think men never were on the Moon. A fake Moon landing is the wildest conspiracy theory yet. Some TV show had such nonsense, but more recent ones on Discovery refute the one that says the Moon landing was faked. We haven't tried to reach the Moon for years. No Moon missions have failed. We constantly learn more, so each trip to the Moon should be easier than the previous one. Our technology hasn't become worse. Where do you get such silly ideas? Did I miss some TV shows or tabloid articles that say such silly things? I hope so.

I have no doubt we made it to the moon.
"Recent missions have all failed"?????? Huh?
It's not a matter of technology, it's a matter of money. After the expense of the moon missions, NASA was told to keep it cheap. The reusable shuttles were supposed to save money.
There's also a 'been there, done that' sorta mentality among some.
Putting alot of money into NASA is not very popular. But the moon shot and the technology necessary to achieve it gave the United States a huge technology boost that filtered into the private sector, and made much much more of a positive economic impact than the cost of the program. We're losing that edge. In fact, we've lost it.
Frankly, we could easily go back to the moon, but no one wants to spend the money or take the risk.

Even if it was all a hoax the (you'd then have to call it hoax or stunt) American government really captured the minds and imagination of a popuation that had lots of reason to complain. The hoax, if you will, proved America's superiority over the USSR and gave the public something to be proud of.
Personally, I'd like to believe that they actually put people on the moon. I'd like to see them put someone up there again just to prove it was all true.
Nasa's failures with the space shuttle are based on poor design for a REUSABLE craft. They are looking to scrap the shuttle and go back to single use rockets, I believe.

Please, please go and read some literature on the American space program, and stop listening to stupid conspiracy theories.
The effort to bring Kennedy's vision to fruition was monumental, and it is a crying shame that one of the things Americans have most to be proud of is brought down by people who listen to garbage reports or have some kind of baseless opinion.
For someone like me who lived through that period, it is just so sad all this stupid disbelief.
Do you realize that 400,000 people worked on Apollo? How must those people feel when they get all these bits of kids with no knowledge of the history of Apollo coming out with this garbage
Grow up. grow up. Grow up.
Knowledge is gained from research, not from listening to or reading of gossip. And baseless opinion is stupid and even dangerous.
