The odds are pretty good. You have a way better chance of them two teams meeting then any other two teams in the postseason. I would say its a 50% chance that a subway series will happen this postseason. I have been predicting subway series since the beginning of the season, even before the Yankees started coming on. Obviously, the Yankees will pull out a victory. Tom Glavine won't be able to stand up to a lineup like the Yankees have.
GO YANKEES

i do no longer see a Subway series. i think of the Mets won't get previous the Dodgers or Cardinals. Their pitching is terrible. Glavine is unknown, Pedro is unknown, Traschel has a team of wins against undesirable communities, Hernandez is iffy at ultimate. Their ultimate pitcher is John Maines. Mets are in a pathetic league. The Yankees Triple A team out of Columbus might supply the Mets a run for their money. No national league team will placed up lots of a combat interior the worldwide series this 365 days, except its a entire upset. If there's a subway series. Yankees 4, Mets 0.

It is highly possible, but the Yankees will have to get by the Twins. Right now the team to beat in the AL I think is the Twins. The Twins have been a team on fire since June 7th. A Twins-Mets series wouldn't be all that bad either. The Mets are the class of the NL by far. St. Louis is probably the best match up against the Mets.

Been there, done that. I heard that in the last 5-10 years, the team that clinches first doesn't win the World Series, and the only team to get to the Series in that span was the 2004 Cardinals.
I hope there isn't another Subway Series. 2000 sucked, and this year will suck worse.

no i think that the Yankees will not make it to the world series. the twins will beat them in the opener and then it will be the tigers vs the twins. the tigers will then go on to face the Mets in the world series.

Please baseball gods no. Last time that happened we had the lowest TV ratings ever for a World Series (and it was not a bad one really). People will not care outside of NYC and the Tri-State area. Best scenario is either NYY or NYM vs. a team from outside NY.
