The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career. Some pro. singers gig for free if they are hustling to get in the loop.
My friend gets 150-200 per hour and he is a solo act. Another female I know gets the same for gigs. But sometimes the gig stretches way beyond the time agreed upon. Hope this helps. So Cal.

There are tons of levels of "professional" singer. Studio performer, celebrity singer, and street performer. The amount of pay depends on the venue...

I would say it would be $1 to start. There are street performers who work just on tips (google "Naked Cowboy NYC" and you'll see one).

Many singers today have tie-ins to other industries... film, fragarence, photography, etc. So, it might be hard to calculate their earning just off singing.
