Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is a short story in The Jungle Book (1894) by Rudyard Kipling. It deals with an English family in India who discovers a mongoose half drowned from a storm and decides to keep it. Rikki-tikki soon finds himself confronted by two murderous cobras, Nag and Nagaina, who have plans to kill Rikki-tikki's new family and only the young mongoose can stop them.

Rikki Tikki Tavi is a short story. There's no reason you can't do it yourself.
As a basic synopsis, the main character is a mongoose (animal that kills snakes.) As I recall, he's a boys pet, but is kicked out of the home after the parents misunderstand his intentions while defending the boy. Later, he regains their trust by killing a snake that wanted to hurt the family.

I've heard about this book. It was made into a cartoon and I saw it. It's about a mongoose who lives with a young boy and his family. Then he has to prevent 2 Cobras from getting the family.
