Front load washing machines are the best because they, unlike top load washing machines, spin your clothing around instead of pull your clothing down.
When your clothes are pulled down as in a top load washing machine they can easily snag against the spike (the thing in the middle of the top load washing machine). This can accelerate the wear and tear of your clothing and cause the fabric to be weakened and ultimately thread bear in a relatively short time.
Whereas with a front load washing machine the clothes simply spin. They aren't being tugged or pulled. They are esentially being whipped around. This has prooven to be a better way to wash clothes since the water can do more to shake the dirt out of the clothes using centrifugal force.
Also, you end up using much less soap, bleach, fabric softner and energy in a front load washing machine.

Front loaders are the best there is no doubt about it. It uses the good old "beating the clothes" method which was/is used for generations. As the clothes in the drum reach on top it fall at the bottom of the drum by gravity hence gets a beating like effect as Dhobis do. Also your clothes would not tangle into a confused mass. Beside other advantages of less consumption of materials.

I've used both, and while the front loader does use less water, the washing capacity is smaller. Even in the larger ones, it's harder to get the clothes clean if you fill it more than 1/3 full. The only other drawback of a front loader, is you can't throw something in mid cycle if you forgot it; a real hardship for those of us who are always forgetting that last sock!

I have both front loading washer and dryer...I prefer these to top loading! They use less water, less electricity, wash better, have no agitator to rip your clothes, and usually have see through windows to see your laundry. The only downside I have found is that when you want to add clothes to the front loading washer, when you open the door sometimes a little water spills out.

From what I've read front loading uses less water and if you pay for that it could be a savings in time. These machines are several hunderd dollars more than a mid range top loader though.

Front loaders as far as my knowledge goes. not only they save water and detergent but also ur clothes get washed against the gravitationall pull which makes it more efficient

front load is best. without an agitator to pull and stretch your clothes they will last longer. And let's not forget never having to worry about the washer being off balance.

Not mentioned so far...
Top loaders are much easier & cheaper to repair when they need it.
Side loaders are very expensive to fix.
Also, some side loaders have a locking mechanism that locks the door when the cycle starts, so, no more ....oops! - one more thing!
