It can be harmful for the baby in the long run. The baby might be born with a birth defect or she could have a miscarriage or the baby might be stillborn. I would suggest not doing it period. If you are going to smoke... wait until after the baby is born. If you are breastfeeding then wait until after you are no longer lactating. I am sorry... but smoking... drinking... and doing drugs (unless proscribed by the doctor) is just plain stupid.. especially when you are pregnant. Hell... there are women out there who spend thousands of dollars everyday just trying to be pregnant. There are plenty of women who would love to be in her place right now. She is abusing the privilege... and that disgusts me. Slap some common sense into her.

There are so many things you are advised NOT to do whilst pregnant - drink, smoke (weed or nicotine), dye your hair, even take Ibruprofen. It is really up to the individual how careful they choose to be. But let me ask you this - how would your friend feel if she miscarried, and you didn't? It may have nothing to do with smoking the weed - but what if it did?? Is it really worth taking the chance that something could happen? Plus, sorry to those who say they did it and the baby was fine, but reports on the subject say that the babies are born seemingly normal and that it is not until they hit school age - usually late elementary school - that a child of a weed smoker can be distinguished from a mother who did not smoke. It is possible that it affects their learning abilities and processing skills at that age. Does she want her kid to have problems in school? She doesn't know for sure, so WHY TAKE THE CHANCE? Ask her that. Hope this helps.

Tell her Don't Do It! Drugs are very dangerous for the fetus, no matter how harmless weed may seem. It can cause low birth weight, premature birth, brain damage or worse. Ask your friend if getting high once in a while is worth having a mentally retarded or handicapped child. If something bad does happen to her baby she will spend the rest of her life regretting it.

Any type of drug use and alcohol use should be avoided during pregnancy. Ask her what's more important to her: a healthy baby or her desire to smoke weed? She's carrying a baby for nine months...he/she needs to get all the important nutrients it needs. If she can't live with that then maybe she wasn't mature to get pregnant in the first place.

It is absolutely not safe for the baby. It could have developmental delays, underweight, and not telling what else. Not only that, the baby will be born addicted to drugs (weed is a drug by the way). The hospital will know and they can alert child services and they can remove the child from her custody.

Smoking anything will hurt the baby. Second hand smoke will hurt that baby. Same thing with alcohol. Please if you can tell her not to do it. Smoking anything will hurts the developing lungs of the baby. Baby could be born with breathing problems.

Smoking weed during a pregnancy has the same affect as smoking cigarettes. However, this has not been scientifically proven because any study would be illegal.

It has been proven that marijuana leads to the loss of brain cells and can cause addictions to stronger drugs. It can cause birth defects in babies who are developing in the womb.
Be a good friend and advice her not to.
