It is a nearly linear function. Try evaluating x = 0. You don't need to get rid of the fraction. What else do you want to know? Are there specific values of x which interest you? Do you want the general waveform? If you have a spreadsheet program, then set-up the formula/equation in the spreadsheet and plot as many values of x as you desire and graph it. You can increase/decrease the set of values and the range to give you a better idea of what is going on. Otherwise you can use a graphing calculator. In general, the form will follow the higher orders first and be influenced by the lesser orders. I will be a distorted graph of x^2. It will first be multiplied, stretched, by a factor of 3. Then a quantity of (2*x-x^(-1)) will be subtracted. Finally the whole graph will be shifted upward by 3 increments.

get rid of the fraction first... by multiplying all terms by (x+3)
3x^2(x+3) -2x(X+3)+1.....3x^3+9x^2-2x^2-6x+1...then combine like terms..... 3x^3+ 7x^2-6x +1

This is polynomial division and set up in the same way you would set up a numerical division problem. I am a klutz on the computer and am having trouble setting the problem up. My question would be ; why are none of these math/computer geeks helping here?

actually what exactly is your question?
are you trying to evaluate it at a certain point?

if not, the expression you have enquired about is a function of x, nothing else.
