aawwe yeah going to the gynocologist definetly sucks. But it's no big deal. It's important to find a doc you are comfortable with, and feel ok talking to. She or he will perform a pelvic exam, insert a speculum into your vagina, which feels a little uncomfortable, and probably take some samples by swabing the cervix , which you can't really feel. It is all over with in a few minutes, and take comfort in knowing they do this dozens of times a day and have seen much worse than what you've got...lol. they are professionals and used to dealing with nervous patients...one tip try to relax..it makes the whole expirience much easier for both you and the doc...good luck!

First of all, calm down. We're all scared the first time we go, and honestly, it's still a pain in the butt! ;) The doctor will give you a thorough exam- and yes, he/she will be in places that you would rather keep private. They will use a speclum to stretch your vagina open just enough for them to do a visual inspecton, then they will take a swab and take a sample of your cerevix to be tested. Usually they will also use their fingers to feel inside and make sure that they don't feel anything unusual. It's not the most fun thing in the world- but it is a MUST to stay healthy. The doctors will do their best to put you at ease and explain to you anything that they are doing. And if you have any questions- no matter how embaring or weird they seem to you- ASK THEM! They've heard it all before- trust me. Good luck and hang in there!

Ya know I'm 45 and still get nervous you will be fine ..... you will get a breast exam just a little pressure while rubbing in a circular motion this is something we all have it is a check for healthy breast, along with basic checks nothing to worry over. We have to take care of our bodies as women you are becoming a young women you are changing.
Try and relax (easier said than done I know)
you will be fine and you'll have your mom there I hope
**** ADDED NOTE ask your mom tell her your really scared she will understand she has been through the same thing

It'll be OK. You really don't have to go there until you're 18 if you're not sexually active . . . but if you are, you should go now.
What they do is take a scraping of cells on your cervix to examine and make sure that you don't have cervical cancer. That involves putting a speculum into your vagina to widen the opening, and then inserting a little probe to scrape off some cells of the cervix. It's uncomfortable, maybe slightly painful (like, scratching-yourself-too-hard painful, NOT like hitting-yourself-with-a-hammer painful. Probably more disturbing is that it's kind of weird and invasive to have a stranger poking around down there. You can request a female gynecologist if that's more comfortable for you.
Best of luck!

Don't worry. You'll be fine. Your gyno will talk to you first before doing anything. They'll tell you all about the examinations they are going to do and what tools they will use to do it. If you are really worried, ask if your mom can be present in the room with you.

Tell them when you first go in that you are scared...they have been there before and if the doctor and the staff are decent, they will do everything to put you at ease...ask them to explain things before they do them..why they are doing them and what you can expect..that will put you in control...breathing is a good thing...and understanding that every other woman in the office has been through this exam and has survived to tell the tale..you'll do fine....but first..ask your MOM!!!!

It's pretty embarassing and scary the first time. I almost cried at my first visit. They should talk you through it since its your first time. They feel your breasts for lumps. Take big q-Tips and swab the inside of you for the pap test. (They'll probably put something in to hold you open. That's the worst part.) It'll be okay. You'll be so happy to leave when the examination is done.
