A lot of things factor into how much a realtor will make. I am taking the exam on Monday to get my license.
A broker must hold your license and you work as an independent contractor. So you will pay desk fees, Error and Omissions Insurance on each contract you write, and a percentage of your commission. Desk fees and commission splits will vary widely from broker to broker. I am going with a smaller one who doesn't charge very much and she will give me 70%. You will have to pay for and do all of your own marketing, mandatory continuing education, taxes, social security, and many other things. The big guys like Keller-Williams, Coldwell-Banker, etc charge much more but they also give you extensive training and have very valuable name recognition.
I am not a hot shot nor will I ever be. I will do real estate part time and take care of some other things I am involved in. But if you want to make big money you will have to totally dedicate yourself to it and you can do quite well. I just want a back door for investments.
Another factor is the market. It goes up and down and back and forth. You will have to ride those waves as they come because you cannot change the ocean's moods.
Hope this helps, good luck.

Depend on the sales. You need to start working under a broker first for 2 years so he also get a commission from your sales after 2 years you can try to be a broker and there is when you really start making money...In the beginning you will get around 2% of commissions brokers get around 6% approx.

Real estate agents are on commission. So how much you make depends on how well you can sell.

It's all based on how successful a marketer you are!!! Like Dan Kennedy says you can't just think of yourself as someone who sells a product or service. You must think of yourself as someone who markets a product or service. There is a huge difference. For details go to amazon and do a search on Dan Kennedy, get his books and follow the references he gives.

They work on commission usually so it depends on how many houses they sell. It's real hard work and highly competitive.

Impossible to say. You would have to know all their expenses and any monies received. They do not work on salary. And each one will be different.
