the .mpg file wont play on wondows media player, VLC media player, foobar 2000, Bs media player and it still wont play at all its for my moms b day im burning it 4 her and it wont play on anything

the file is corrupted
or
you do not have that much codecs to play specific mpg files

if it won't play in vlc media player, then there must be something wrong with the file itself. with vlc you don't need to worry about codecs since it's codec-free, or something.

it will b mpeg file which will play in media player unless u unticked the option while installing it so u might need to upgrade it or reinstall it alsso try it in ur dvd player or somrthing like that

Google "K-Lite Codec Pack", find the freecodecs.com website, and download the "Standard" version. You should be able to play your .mpg with this.
