I have an Ibanez rg120, but i prefer playing a whole step down, maybe drop C as well. I almost broke the bridge because the strings i bought the other day were too thick, thus not letting me play low with a good sound. I'm just wondering about a good $500ish guitar, and good strings as well. I know that the amp has a lot to do with it, but i have a nice 120 watt marshall amp (that i got for free in a radio station). Also, i do not know anything about 7 string guitars. what are some good brands for those?

Schecter makes good 7 strings. They're affordable, look cool, and are geared towards heavy stuff.
