Pros- Make more money, work not as physically demanding. The cost, now, is like investing in yourself. It'll be worth any hardships.
Cons- You won't have all the time to hang with all your buddies and get drunk. You may never experience the thrill of working in fast food.

It's really all up to you.
I would ask you, would you rather spend $25,000 on a something that will lose all its value in 5 years, or go to college and earn that in a couple of months?
Also, if you don't really know what you should do, you should go to community college. That is if your county/city has one, and be either undeclared or take liberal arts there. At least, you can be on your way to discovering what you want to do with your life.
It's no question that formally educated people earn more than those with High School diplomas or GEDs.
Again, it's really up to you. But I'd recommend going at least to see what it feels like.
As for affording it, did you file FASFA? It's the national application for financial aid. You can always get student loans, or even find employers around your area that will pay for you to attend college. If you truly desire to go to college, I'm sure you'll find a way. GOOD LUCK! To you!

If you don't go to college, you will most likely make less than the typical college graduate. That is a true statistic.
While there are thousands of successful, happy people who never set foot in a college, in this day and age, if you don't have a college degree, you will most likely wind up in some crappy job like working at Starbucks, Wal-Mart or even worse... the Post Office...
Find a way to afford it... Take night classes at community college...
Try it...
Good luck.

by going to college you learn a skill, a trade, and get a degree even though you will have to take out loans...does college help you in the real world? no duh! it is helping me get a minor in biology by doing research under my undergrad biology teacher...you go to college and it is expensive, i will admit that, yet when you get a job you will make the money to pay off the loans you took off. it gives you a better life, a one time shot that you either make it or break it.
if you do not go to college you will work at places such as McDonald's, getting an Associates Degree and wishing that you have done something better with your life,...the pay will be not that good, the hours grueling, the schedule will be hard on you, the bills will come pouring in and you might have to work a second job.
my best advice is to go to college and to do something with your life that 20 years from now you will be proud of...not regreting what you did not do..

College puts you in the position of being able to choose what you want to do in life, rather than having to take what is available for you. It puts YOU in control of your life. People who say it isn't that useful usually point out the few exceptional cases who started successful companies or made money in sports or entertainment without graduating, but these ARE the exceptions. Don't assume that you will be one of them, because the odds are that you won't.

College just gives you better chances in life now and days... lets just put it this way... if you go and spend all that money it will pay it self off one day... if you dont you won't have the best jobs in the world unless you know people... but if you go after high school and just finish college...YOU WILL NEVER REALLY HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL AGAIN... that is always a plus...

The pro is that you will get a better rounded education and actually learn to learn. Most employers are looking for learners. The con is that expectations are higher and you might have to amount to something.

i would go to a community college for your first couple years and then go to a university.. its so much cheaper!! and i would def. go to college.. you'll regret it when you get older.
pros- 1.more freedom
2.you can pick when you go to your classes and who you get (teachers)
3. well.. idk about other places but where i go.. i only meet monday, wednesday, and friday
one class only meets monday and tuesday so you basically don't have to go everyday
cons- money? haha.. but you can also ask for financial aid soo.. yea
college is so much better than high school but you have to have a little responsibility because they don't baby you, but as long as you show up and pay attention which really isn't that hard.. you'll do fine
GOOO!! haha :)

college is really important and if you do want to work in Mcdonald's and say:"good morning sir, how may i help you?" for all you life, then by all means don't go to college. can't afford college? you can be a working student, apply for a student loan or get a scholarship.
good luck!
