I need help with a big project that im doing...so please help me get your opinion on dragons and good proof (websites or books i could check out). thank you!!

Dragons are extinct now but when they lived were important environment "clean up" factoroids. They both provided high quality fertilizer and ate decaying dead animals that otherwise would have spoiled rivers and streams as well as smell bad.

The European dragons were mostly symbols of Satan, or the adversary. They are destructive in nature and are opponents to be slain.
In China, however, it's something else entirely. The dragon represents the Chinese people and the Emperor. Dragons are often represented in water. The dragon also represents the Chinese people itself. Statues of Chinese dragon often depict the dragon raising from the water. It represents the birth of the Chinese people through agriculture, given by the rain. Authentic Chinese dragons will also have whiskers, horns, fins, and other parts of different beings. This also symbolizes the Chinese people in that these symbols come from different idols that used to be worshiped by different cultures that ended up unified under the Chinese Empire. This is why the dragon ended up symbolizing the emperor himself, i.e. the unifier.

Big dragon fan. Always thought someone may have stumbled on dinosaur bones and invented the dragon thing. The chinese have a year of the dragon. The book "Animalia" by Graeme Base has a wonderful illustration of a dragon. check it out.
