Monroe Doctrine - Written in 1823 by James Monroe; states the U.S.'s opinion that European powers should no longer colonize in the Americas or interfere with affairs of soverign nations; it also stated that America would stay neutral in wars in European states.

James Monroe - Wrote Monroe Doctrine in 1823; 5th President of U.S.; he started his administration by acquiring the state of Florida

Treaty of Ghent - Ended War of 1812 (between the U.S. and the Untied Kingdom); signed on December 24, 1814

Pinckneys Treaty - aka 'The Treaty of Madrid'; signed in San Lorenzo de El Escorial on October 27, 1795; established an alliance between Spain and the U.S.

Dude... suck it up and do your homework. Encyclopedia.com should be a quick way to find basic information, or if your history text is like most, it should have a glossary of relevant terms in the back.
