Here's another example of truth by consensus:
"49% of New Yorkers now believe that the US government either planned or knew and did nothing about the attacks on Sept 11."

If enough people say it, and enough people believe it, it MUST be true...

No, that prize goes to Yahooanswers:-)

In Wikipedia those who know the truth have at least a chance of reinserting it as often as they like, and there are a few places where modifications are blocked by those who know better.

On yahooanswers, the largest vote wins. If enough people think Alaska was the least populous US state in 1900, the FACT that it was not a state at all in 1900 won't stop them from winning the 'best answer'.
