dont buy the songs, just download limewire

ipod chooses to use a format that does not with other players, and while you can rip music off of CD's you own but can't upload formats purchased from other music site to the ipod

If you bought them from itunes, they should be compatible with your ipod, but not much else.

Which format are these songs? WMA? or MP4?

You could get Tunebite to convert these songs to MP3, which will play in itunes, ipod, Window, just about anywhere!!!
