Very convenient that gas prices are lowered just before election time. I think the world oil barons got together and lowered crude prices hopeing to keep the
right wing hawks in power. World-wide conflict is their goal and the Reps. are more than happy to oblige. War means big money for the big shots and jobs
for the unemployed as the logistics necessary to maintain the military is huge.

Not a chance, I'm still hurting from the high gas prices from earlier this year. My thinner wallet will serve as a long term reminder of Republican Rule.

It will certainly help Republicans, how could it hurt? Although, Republicans have no control over the price of oil, because it's traded publicly on the open market. Hasn't anyone ever heard of "Supply and Demand? It's actually quite simple to learn. Democrats get jealous and make up conspiracy theories because they have nothing to offer the American people except higher taxes. North Carolina's gas is 50 cents higher than South Carolina's for no other reason than the tax imposed by the Democrats in Raleigh.

Ya know, Bush might be responsible for this one.

One of the major reasons for the recent high prices were worries that the US might threaten to go to war with Iran and Iran might place restrictions on their oil production as a result.

Then in the last few weeks, Bush has been focusing on diplomacy thus easing the worries that have been increase gas prices.

How much do you want to bet that just after elections we will hear the administration preaching strong actions. But it will come only after the elections.

I think it could help... I mean I know A LOT of poor folks that voted for Bush that were VERY unhappy with the gas prices... and you can say "he doesn't control them" all you want, but if people are unhappy, they will take it out on folks at the polls....

so I think this could help... all of a sudden people have a little more cash in the wallet and they feel a little more secure...

They will pick up a few votes from the idiots that believe everything that they say. Just remember the George Bush called all of the big oil company's exectives in to set energy policy and oil has been going up every since. Now that it is election time and the repuglicans are in real trouble they are still setting energy policy.

Since it was a Democratic Clinton that let them conglomerate think it will be a wash, thou if they stayed high it would have been helpful in some races. There was one Senator down South making it his major issue. After elections are over, if we get bad Winter will bet they will go for five dollar threshold.

Well, it won't affect the vote of liberals and Bush haters, but it may help win back those who want to see the best in Bush and though they aren't happy with him, are still fairly easy to swing back..especially if Democrats don't play their cards right which they are notorious for doing, unfortunately.

It's also a setup in my opinion. If the Democrats win Congress back, prices are likely to go up, and the Republicans will say look what happened when the Democrats took the majority of Congress...
