I know someone who is 5'7 and weighs about 103lbs. and she is very insecure and wishes every day that she was thicker. Do you think being 5'7 and 103lbs is too skinny for that height? She is a sophompre in high school? How can I stop feeling insecure?? Besides eat more, cause I eat as much as I can!!

You can't please everyone. If you gain weight some guys will consider you kind of chunky or flabby. I like girls that are slim with thin legs and small hips.

Don't worry! When I was in high school I was 5'7" and weighed 115. 103lbs at 5'7" is pretty thin but once you have grown up and have children it all changes and you will put on some weight. Is anyone else in your family this thin? Could it be genetics? You could go to the healthfood or vitamin store and they have shakes that you can get to help gain weight. But I would say just keep eating healthy and one day you will wish you were that size again!

I'm 5'6" and weigh 95 pounds. It's mostly genetic, plus I've been eating very healthy since I was very young. There is something called the BMI (Body Mass Index) where "normal" is considered around 18% body fat. My body fat is 16% but I don't consider myself abnormal. I grew up this way and I'm used to it. Yes, I was insecure growing up because I was a skinny little runt but now I'm perfectly fine with it.

If you want to gain weight, just add a few calories every day. Every 3,200 calories you don't burn up, will equal to one pound. But DON'T intake saturated fats, partially hydrogenated oils, or any other high-calorie processed foods. Have a handful of nuts, add two tablespoons of peanut butter to a sandwich or simply add more veggies to your dinner every night.

Good luck!

Yes you are too skinny for your height. Try lifting weights to gain muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. Try to intake more carbs. (breads, pretzels etc.) Society today has made people think that they should look like they are anorexic. But in reality most people think this is disgusting and it is very unhealthy. Good luck!!
