what i would do, this sounds like your first baby, i know i can took ani acids but with different doctors they have different preferences of what you can and cannot take, the thing is when asking people on here stuff some of them have the knowledge but haven't had a child in a while, also sometimes new info comes into your baby doctor that you may need to know before making a decision of a brand to take..so i would call up my doctor which he should be able to tell you how many what you can and cannot take, i understand the misery with this heartburn while pregnant and let your doctor know whats going on :)

My ob/gyn said that Rolaids or Tums would be fine for occasional use. He even suggested that I take a Tums a day to increase my calcium while I was pregnant. If you're still unsure, check with your doctor or lactation counselor from the hospital.

I took Tums like crazy when I was pregnant, so I assume that you can take it when you're nursing. Take calcium based antacid rather than aluminum or some other stuff. Call the OB ward at your local hospital and ask one of the nurses and they can tell you for sure.

Calcium carbonate (TUMS, Rolaids, etc) is considered safe when taken as directed while breastfeeding. In fact, the extra calcium is good for you and will help you maintain your bone density while breastfeeding!

Rolaids and Tums are safe to take during pregnancy, then they are safe to take while breastfeeding.

Yes, I take Zantac regularly. Tums are safe, too.
