I'm pretty sure all turtles & tortises lay eggs. I have 5 Dessert Tortises, but they are only 10yrs. old. They won't mate untill they are 17 or 18 yrs old...but when I'm giving them a bath those 'Buggers' ...'Flash me' Still don't know where they learned THAT!! unless they found on of my sons magazines...well I did, by the way I'm Mom & both sons are 27b & 29. on yahoo there is a 'turtle/tortise site, you might have to ask them. But I'm SURE all turtles lay eggs. Anyone want to come over & 'have a talk with my nasty Tortises?' Just a thought. Pegi

they lay eggs on the beach and then they leave the eggs there and go back to the water. When the turtles hatch they have to try to walk to shore without being caught and eaten first.

, If they are in the wild which is what I presume you mean, yes they do. They dig a hole in the ground and lay their eggs after a certain amount of time has past the babies hatch make their way to the surface. Then they have to make the risky journey to the ocean, as there are many predators waiting for them.

yes! turtles travel onto the beach, dig a hole, and lay a lot of eggs, then head back to the water. leaving the young to there own demise!
