An ovarian cyst (no matter how extreme it may be) does not effect your period or ovulation (you might be in pain around time of ovulation up to the day you start your period... but that is it). If you should get surgery to get the cyst removed... then it might take a while to get your period on track. Trust me... I speak from personal experience. I had ovarian cysts removed back in February '06 and it took me almost 6 months to get a period. Anywayz... the main cause might be stress... or excessive weight gain or weight loss. If you are really worried about it... I would contact your gynecologist and ask him/her what it might be. Get any abnormalities ruled out. I hope this helps. Good luck!!

Have you told your doctor that you are 7 weeks late?? If so, your doctor should be running some test to find out why. You could just be under alot of stress, or had weight gain/loss which can also delay your period.
I would call your doctor & request a appt. to talk to him/her about why your cycle is so late.

- stressing out. I had this before, stressing out over my grades and my period dissapears for 3 months. Too much worrying over the possibility of being pregnant can also be the cause. So relax, who knows it turns positive.
-a change in eating pattern. Happened to me too. Used to live in dorms where i can go all you can eat in dining halls. After moving out and cooking, I missed my period for 2 months because I eat less.

I can only think of two reasons, one is ovarian cyst, I had that problem and lost my period for two years, but still had children later on in life. The second is extreme stress. You need to talk to your doctor about this.

there could be many reasons but since your question leans on trying to get pg I would wonder of an underlying hormonal problem mainly progesterone or a metabolic disorder both could lead to difficulty conceiving.
