You can report it all you want but it will do little good.

The laws in Nigeria, China and eastern Europe are not very strong, and that is where most of the garbage comes from.

You can report such phishing scam e-mails to spam@uce.gov . When you forward the spam, it is *vital* that you include the full headers of the e-mail. The headers show the route the e-mail took to get to you, and authorities need that info to collect data on the scammers. There is great information at the below link. Hope that helps! :)

Reporting it isn't enough. That happened to us a couple of times and it did no good to report to the provider. The roomate site never responded to our e-mails and neither did Yahoo. Just thought you should know.

You usually report it to abuse at your own ISP. For example if you use AOL you would forward the email to "abuse@AOL.com" Just put the word "SCAM?" in the subject line so they will know what to expect.

You can report scam through your email provider, but you can't really let everyone know it's scam. Let people decide for themselves. :)

Check the FCC website. There is information on where to forward spoof emails.

Really though, no one cares.
