For the record, my favs are (in order):
1. TEXAS!!! Friendly folk, diversity in landscapes, the most beautiful women
2. Mississippi. Beautiful piney woods, old South heritage
3. Tennessee. Friendly folk, diversity of attractions and landscapes
4. North Carolina. Same as Tennessee, except now it's becoming too full of yankee transplants
5. Oklahoma. Old west feel w/ Southern hospitality, open spaces allow you to open your mind
6. Colorado. Gotta love the Rockies.
7. Utah. Same as CO, but it either gets way too hot or way too cold
8. Wyoming. Same as CO and UT, except it gets so cold.
9. Alabama. Not a bad state at all, love the Gulf coast and boiled peanuts
10. Washington. The Olympic peninsula, cultural attractions of Seattle, ancient volcanoes; it's like California except 100 times better

Texas is the best because the people are great, and there is still a focus on the family and Christian values. There are still small towns, and rural areas. New York for the exact opposites reasons is #2.

What? You didn't mention Maine once! Traitor! LOL!
Maine is my home. Even though I have no blood 'family' here, it is home to me. I was raised here in this very town and I recongize most of the people. Even if I don't know their names and I like the changing seasons. I don't think I could do the heat in the South. I have to have a break.
And as we Mainers say
"If you don't like the weather in Maine, just wait 5 minutes and it will change!"
