Basketball is international now when the first dream team hit the floor and mopped it with the rest of the teams their goal was to compete with the americans to get better years later now is the result true americans have ego's cause we can it's a free world if we put our truly best in i think we still will when Kobe Shaq Chauncy Rip the ones this here are the ones they asked after these Guys if we send a complete NBA team like pistons Heat where they have chemistry it'll be a different story

The problem is that Greece's national team has been playing together for years, they have developed chemistry and know each other abilities on the court.
Team USA have put together a completely new roster of players that will play well together, but havent had enough time to develop chemistry. They also had to adjust to Europe's style of play, zone defense blocks the lanes so star players like Lebron and Wade cannot just penetrate and score easily.
Another problem is Team USA did not know their opponent very well. The Nba is broadcasted all over the world so it is easy for other teams to learn about the abilities of Team Usa.
Give Team Usa more time, they have a group of talented and young players, they just need to develop the chemistry and learn more about the international game.

It is because the NBA style of basketball is a totally different type of basketball than the international game. The international games stresses good shooting and tough defense, both of which are practically an afterthought in the NBA. I think the NBA made a step in the right directiong with going with a college coach (more similar style to the international game) and younger players. The one final point I would like to make is that the USA didn't have players like Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, and Shaquille O'Neil playing for them either.

First of all, Americans boast about anything. But you must talk to dumbass Americans as educated ones I know are sensible.
They lost to Greece because you just cannot throw a team together and expect it to gel esp. with a college coach at the helm.
Soccer is a very minor sport in the U.S. and no one really cares nationally. It's a niche sport professionally.
You should talk more about how they lost in the Wolrd Baseball Classic because they treated it more like a spring training tuneup unlike the other teams.

The American basketball "team" is a bunch of selfish, money grabbing showboaters. The Greeks won because they know what TEAMWORK is. The Americans are ME players, not WE players.
Our soccer program has a LONG way to go before they can compete consistently on the world stage. The rest of the world has been doing it for decades if not longer. You're not going to overcome that overnight.

NBA players, while they are very good basketball players and are very athletic, lack a clear understanding and experience playing the game using international (FIBA) rules. They also lack cohesion because they play against each other, for different teams the entire NBA season. Cohesion and teamwork is very important in international basketball competitions.

I'm an american and we should stop boasting about NBA players. The fact is that the international game is more fundamentally sound. All NBA players do is DUNK for the ESPN highlight reels.
