Though they are affiliated with the party of 'the rich' they seem to have no idea what the rich does and make excuses constantly for the government, though they seem ignorant to much of what is going on.....

The answer is that they get the majority of their information from what Al Franken calls the right-wing media, namely: Fox News, the Washington Times, The New York Post, the editorial pages of the Wall Street Journal, and conservative talk radio.
Toward the end of his book "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, he gives an excellent example of just how skewed information coming from these sources is.
"....let's take a look at a study conducted by the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland. The study correlated people's misconceptions on Iraq with where they got their news. The poll focused on three widely held misperceptions:
1. That evidence of links between Iraq and al-Qaeda had been found.
2. That weapons of mass destruction had been found in Iraq.
3. That world public opinion had favored the U.S. going to war against Iraq.
"Of people who get their news primarily from Fox, 80% held at least one of these three misperceptions.
"Of people who get their news primarily from NPR and PBS, 23% held one of these three misperceptions.
"My favorite finding from the study, however, was that among those who primarily watch Fox, the more they watched the more likely they were to have one of those misperceptions.
"In other words, the more you watch Fox the stupider you get."
Fortunately there are websites on the Net such as Newshounds.us and Crooksandliars.com, both of whom are on a mission to prove that Fox News and other media outlets like them are neither fair nor balanced.

I think dstr is really Howard Dean...lol. That was alot of hate. What do you mean by "conservatives have no idea"? I do have an idea and let me give you a few: first, gay marriage never got legalized on a national level, abortion rights were not expanded, we still have the right to bear arms, welfare rules were tightened, schools are now accountable for actually teaching, we are not the UNITED STATES OF THE UNITED NATIONS (a democrat would certainly have made that a reality) and lastly we don't take **** from countries who want to harm us

Before you make such harse statements, look and see what a conservative is.
they beleive that you know better how to spend your money than the government.
They beleive you should not spend more than you take in as taxes.
They believe that LESS government is better than more.
They beleive that the rights of the MAJORITY of the citizens should out weigh the what minority group is pushing down their throats.
They beleive that when people work hard, and make something of themselves, either by owning a business or getting rich, you shouldnt be penalized for that hard work. EVERYONE should pay their fair share in taxes. If its a flat tax, say 10%, that person who makes $30,000.00 dollars a year, pays $3,000.00 dollars. That person who makes $125,000.00, pays $12,500.00 in taxes.
If you beleive that the Liberals will tax the rich, let me sell you a bridge. When big business gets higher taxes, they pass it on the the consumer, you know, the working class, me, you and the millons who work and pay their taxes.
So, if the above is wrong, then the American dream is all wrong. That dream says that anyone, can get an education, work hard, and make something of themselves, if they work hard for it. its not the rich verses the poor, the democrats verses the republicans. Its the Liberals who beleive that only the Government knows whats best for the people, verses the conservatives, who think the people know more and can take care of things better if government butts out.

I'm conservative and I am far from rich. To be conservative has nothing to do with your social status. To be conservative is to believe in certain fundamentals. Just like liberals and secular progressives. My question to you is do you know what is going on? Apparently not because you seem angry at a group of people and you don't even know what they stand for. Maybe you are just one of those who are being sucked in by the media. The media lies little lady don't believe everything you hear!
