Best thing I've found for ants, and it is non-toxic if you're worried about children and pets, is rubbing alochol; and it's cheap. Pour the rubbing alcohol wherever you have them. It kills the ants, and evaporates quickly so you don't have to worry about your kids or pets getting poisoned. I've never tested it on carpeting though. Anyway, after a few treatements, that ought to do the trick. I've also used cayenne pepper. Sprinkle alot of that around. They hate the stuff. But the rubbing alcohol is alot cheaper. Good luck.

Did you have a leak somewhere in your house? I found that wet wood attracts them. If you take baby powder and put it were you see them the most they leave. Another question.Sorry. Do you have tree limbs over hanging you house? Ants will drop off the tree on/in to your house. If you do,check your tree. If they are in tree you can treat the ground around the tree with seven dust. GOOD LUCK.
