there are two things that micheal waltrip should stay away from, a race track and a television camera. how does someone that drives so terribly get so much attention? someone also needs to tell him that he is not funny.

Micheal has not been the same since he hit the wall in that Busch race about 12 or so years back.
But in reality he was not with the best funded teams until the Earnhardts hired him.
Those NAPA commercials are by far the dullest things now,the Dominos commercials were better.
And his hair for crying out load what is going on?It totally needs help, get Newman and the young guns to do the job.

I am not a fan by any means, but I tend to enjoy hearing what Waltrip has to say in interviews. He is the ONLY driver I know of that can get taken out in a wreck and walk away with a smile. It is like racing is just a fun thing for him to do.
With all the Kyle Bush, Kurt bush, and Jeff Gordan's out there who ALWAYS seem to think that the driver that hit thim did it all to hold them down it is refreshing to see a guy who races and understands that stuff happens.
Waltrip is a bad driver, but good guy. I cannot wait to see what he does with his Red Bull team next year.

I'm with you. Michael Waltrip is probably a nice guy. He actually stopped to sign autographs for us at Las Vegas when he was on his way out of an appearance. Not many people were standing there but he saw another member of our party and stopped for a couple of minutes.
As far as on the race track, he needs to put somebody else in the car. I think MWR would do much better with a new driver. A perfect example is his Busch car. After David Reutimann got into the car, the performance jumped. As far as being on the camera, he needs to tone it down. I doubt that is going to happen.

I love Michael Waltrip he has good perspective on anything and everything and he is going to come back strong next yeear with Toyoata I hope because he is a really good driver and as he said thsi is his transitional year so he knew he wasn't going to be doing so well and I think that he is a good announcer and a good race car driver and he gives perspective alot of other drivers would not get. By the way my favorite driver is Jeff Gordon but I Michael Waltrip is a really good guy.

well the reason he got so much attention before he left DEI was because he was with DEI and had NAPA as a sponsor, now the only reason is because his brother is Darrell Waltrip and it doesn't hurt that he has won 2 Daytona 500's either...but to answer your question he should try and get with a competitive team like Yates or something instead of starting his own team with Toyota

I like cheering Micheal on. He is not my favorite driver but, he is one I like. As for the camera he is a riot. When the race is on and a commercial with him comes on, the room comes to a stop and we have to watch it. lmao. I still loved his Mikey Miked when he was racing the big lazy boy chairs. I want to try them. From what I have watched and read about him he seems like a nice guy. Keep smiling and have a great day.

No but Kyle Petty and Sterling Marlin should retire. And Darryl Waltrip should get out of the announcing booth, maybe put him as a pit reporter

I don't particularly care for Waltrip but he is very popular. Will be interesting to see what he does in a Toyota. He hasn't done much since leaving DEI.

We have an endearing term for him in my family..whiney little momma's boy. He wrecked Dale Jarret's career by convincing him to race on his new team next year. He should put a bag over his face when he interviews next time, and the tv network should play, "Where Have all the Flowers Gone?" over his voice when he opens his yapper to talk.

I like Michael Waltrip. He's super nice in person. I think he has a good sense of humor.
I agree with you though, he really doesnt do well at all. I am not sure why NAPA has stuck with him. Maybe because of his big brother.
