This usually happens when the air in the house is moving, and deposits from the air fall onto spots that sledom have motion or activity. If you frequently have windows open, or fans on, or central air pushing the dust around, it will settle. Check to make sure your window screens are clean ( a damp paper towel usually does the trick) and your fan and its' blades are clean, and check to make sure you change or clean your air filter in the heat/air conditioner ducts. A good vacuuming will handle it. By all means, wipe down the leaves, the better their pores are clean, the more oxygen they can put out for you.

A sprayer hose on the kitchen sink would be great and quick. The plants really do appreciate not choking on dust so they will look much healthier. Spray bottle would work if used more often. All else fails do put them in the shower. I do think their is a spray you can buy to help with that problem but i think it is frowned upon by horticulturists.
Good luck

You can prevent your indoor plants by spraying water on the leaves to remove dust every day and one morething u have to remember is that plants must be there for some time in sunrays.

I usually clean my houseplants with a damp rag or carry the small ones to the kitchen sink and wash them there. For the large plants I usually take them into the shower and wash them off there.
