I've had this dream for years. I'm taking university courses, and it's in the middle of the semester. I haven't attended any of the classes (sometimes I don't know when or where the classes meet), I haven't done any of the work, and I'm failing. And I'm not a student.

Let me repeat: I am not a student.

Well, dreaming of being a student again could mean something you wanted to finish and accomplish that you have not had a chance before.

It is recurring dream and there is some unresolved issue going on your life.

University course = higher education
Failing in class, or haven't done any work = laziness, or giving up.

Basically, you have this desire of higher education and subconsciously you are giving up because you don't have much of motivation for your education even in your dream. You projected this dream in education because there is a need subconsciously. Whether you have high education degree or not, somehow you regret in the past especially in college years. Maybe you have missed some courses or maybe there is some moment you really missed. That is why you went back in your dreams and tried to find what you are missing. Unfortunately, your dream is telling you that you are giving up in many ways. Not in education in particular, that is only symbol. You may be giving something in reality and that only symbolize "giving up" in real life subconsciously.

you are the best person to interpret your dream but with the help of some clues. dreams are from our subconscious mind.
were you a university student? planning to go to a university school? were you a good student that failing is a major fear for you? any of these could be factors why you are having those dreams.

If school was life, what would your dream mean to you?

If school was a relationship, what would your dream mean then?

Are you feeling inadequate for something in life? It's probably a reminder of how lost you may feel in some area in life, or life itself. It's a good dream though, cause it's causing you to look at life and maybe (hopefully) fix or take some action with whatever this underlying feeling is.

I get dreams like that sometimes. Usually, I feel insecure about something in my life (not necessarily related to school). It means that although you are aware of something that is going on, you feel as though you will not be able to get around that hurdle. Keep telling yourself that you have everythig under control, and make sure you do get things in control.

i think it means u feel unprepared for something in your life, and since it has happened more than once you should think if it occurs right before something important in your life, i dont really think it has to do with being a failure but more getting ready to fail or being unprepared, and i doubt it has to do with school, cuz dreams are usually subconscious -

Sounds like you are worried that when the time comes, you will not be prepared. Ignore the school part of it, just focus on the facts.

Dreams, my dear, have absolutely no meaning. They are the product of an unrestricted mind playing with itself while you are asleep.
