I tried tons of handcream but they just sit on top of the skin in a sticky layer and don't penetrate into the dryness. Know any good hand creams?

aqua glycolic is good. If you think you have a skin condition, talk with your doc and see about maybe getting on a steroid ointment to help get it under control.

Okay, when my hands get really bad this is what I do.....
Before going to bed.....Get a good body scrub and scrub the dead skin off first. Rub OLIVE OIL on them, then soak them in warm water for around 2 or three minutes....then wipe them off with a paper towel. Follow this with a lotion containing alpha hydrox ( I use Jergen's skin smoothing) follow by using either nuetragena norwegan formula hand cream or vaseline, put plastic gloves on, and some warm fuzzy gloves on over those...and sleep like that. In the moring, use the body scrub again.....with the skin smoothing lotion.
This usually works the first night, but may take two......

Step away from over-washing your hands, especially this time of year. Please follow the next steps: 1. fill a spray bottle with baby oil and spray during the last seconds in the shower; 2. smear on a good moisturizer all over. Vaseline is a good choice. 3. for over-dry area, use Aquaphor. It might seem expensive, but it works really well. 4. at night, put extra Aquaphor on your feet and hands and cover these with socks and cotton gloves. Good luck!

Innoxa hand cream is great- I have really dry hands because of the work I do (often wear latex gloves and am always washing my hands) and this keeps them from drying out too much. Dove is pretty good for me as well.

I also have very dry skin on my hands and elsewhere and I have found Nivea extra enriched lotion is the only thing that makes them soft and smooth. It's in a blue pump bottle and it works

Put pure petroleum jelly on your hands before going to bed and drink plenty of water. Drinking lots of water restores moisture to the skin.

Olay lotion or St. Ives both work well for extra dry skin. There are many different varieties to choose from.

Soak them in really hot water mixed with butter, then dry them right after and put lotion on. Any kind of (24) hour lotion is good, I really like the dove lotions, and bath and body lotions are good to.

Yes, cornhusker's is the best - it is in a clear bottle with yellow cap and label - typically in an older pharmacy store...
