No. If you're working the week before and after a holiday, you get paid for it. If either condition is not met, most employers won't pay for the holiday, even if it's considered a 'paid' holiday.

1. There is no such thing as a "Canadian part of Her Majesty's realm." It doesn't exist. 2. The visit of the Wessex's is a private visit, not a public one. It has nothing to do with the Government at all, and there are no planned "public" events. 3. There is never a bank holiday for a Royal visit, not even for a day, let alone a week. Even the UK doesn't do this.

It depends on company policy, but it would be very rare for a company to pay you for holidays during an unpaid leave of absence.

no, the only way would be if you were using paid leave during that time, then you might have a shot at getting holiday pay, but if you're on leave without pay then you go that whole period without pay

No sorry, that would be nice though. However you can get your medical/dental benefits covered. It would be slightly more, than what you are paying as if you were still a 'current employee'.
