They ask me dumb things like, "I can see your sketch book?" I could understand them wanting to see it if that person was also an artist because then they are just scoping out the competition they've got, and I've got no problem showing them, but why does everyone else want to see my crappy, imbarasing, half-*** doodles?
And for that matter, when I do put enough effort into something to be willing to show people, why do they always ask me (about the people I draw from magazines,) "who is that supposed to be?" or "who is that person?" Do they really think I know these people, or are they just that stupid?
I'm so sick of their dumb questions! How can I make them shut up?

People who are not artists find art mysterious and fascinating. They don't mean to be stupid. To someone who can't draw at all a crappy half*** doodle by someone with talent is a marvel.

I must say that it is very insulting to say, Who is that suppose to be? They could certainly word their question in a more tactful manner. I would have been offended too. Unfortunately the world is full of people lacking tact and intelligence. Most of the time they mean no harm. People are curious and art is interesting.
People that feel that they aren't artistic, more times than not, wish they were. As an artist myself, I could not tell you how many times I've heard, I wish I had a talent. Perhaps, by attacking your art they are really saying the same thing only in a negative way.
You could say that you would prefer not to show your art until it is finished and that your sketches are works in progress or ideas that you are contemplating. I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck with your creative endeavors.

Maybe you're just bad artist, or if not you're a prima donna. Either way you're a worthless human being. Its people like you that give artists a bad name.
If you don't want people to see or talk about your art then don't show it to them.
One other thing, in regards to wanting to see your sketches, some of the best art ever done is not appreciated by its creator.

Stop showing your art work to every person on the street that has no inkling of art talent. Instead, search for talented artists that are willing to share your enthusiasm.
Above all, lose your extreme sensitivities over such answers. Thicken your skin as a writer must do and you'll be the better for it. Everyone doesn't share your expertise or talent that God has given you to develop.

lol, testicle molesting? That one made me chortle out loud, and Im at paintings. besides the two facets have their share of lack of awareness. I could admit that as a MMA fan I hate seeing the diverse posts people submit here for it. i think of there are extra stupid MMA (examine: UFC) posts than classic martial arts if for no longer something than the indisputable fact that the UFC has won diverse popularity in a very couple of minutes. so which you get a ton of folk who're asserting issues according to little to no journey. they actual have a tendency to be youthful than your undemanding classic martial artist, or a minimum of their adulthood stages are. classic martial artists are accountable of it besides, yet from a lesser quantity. perchance MMA lacks understand, or maybe there are purely extra people so there are extra idiots.
