I already have hearing loss (5% in right ear) and want to minimize more. I bought a (now apparently cheap)(the best one I could find at the time) one from home depot that is now starting to crack it's plasic forming to expose the foam inside. Anyway, it was not very good to begin with, and I see professional mowing people wear what looks like much better ones. HOW do I find one of those???!!!

go in and have look at a few different models. if you are looking for something thats comfortable that the professional wear all day, then look for a pair that have a more supple material to be comfortable. what thay have to do, is keep the sound down to a comfortable level. so what i would do is, try a pair on. and grab a hand full of bolts or something thats guna make a bit of noise. if it keeps the level down to say 3/4, my guess more than enough to not to cause damage from the average mower or sniper. if your not shaw, drop somethink else and you will get somene te help you out. yey mate keep them out of the sun may stop cracking.............from oz.

My guess is that you get what you pay for. I found a good pair at the local hardware store. You might try calling a local nursery or grounds maintenance company and ask for their recommendation.
