What is your opinion towards the Pope vs. Muslim incident?

I think Islam is totally ridiculous and violent. They get excited everytime the hear something that relates to killing another people. They are like animals.

I truly think that the Pope had no intention of offending anyone, only to open up some peoples eyes. I mean honestly you would think a man who is that religious would truly be sorry, and not mean to offend anyone. I believe alot of people blew it out of proportion to make it and view it how they want. Possible to have just one more reason!

Let me try this one. The Pope is supposed to be infallible. That means, he should have known it would incite strong emotions in the Muslim community. (Just like the taunts between libs and neocons here on YA. Imagine if some of us could get our hands on each other.)

Why bring it up when the Christians have a history of the Crusades and the Spanish Inquistion?

Was it done on purpose to make us in American "very" afraid? It is an election year, and we must be fearful so that we will vote for the Republican party. One could make this supposition.

I, personally, thought that he was voted Pope too quickly. There were others much more qualified. I asked my self then, and I do now, "What's with that?"

The Pope said nothing wrong, simply stating facts. The Muslims are easily offended. That shows a sign of weakness and instability within their religion.

Sadly the word's quoted by the Pope were true in the 1400's and remain so today.

The Pope should have thought twice about what he said, but perhaps Islam shouldn't be so well prepared to prove the truth of it.

I thinks it's not right that the pope should said things like that in public. He should be a good role model to everyone and doing things like that is not good. I felt bad 'cause he didn't show to us that respecting ones religion is part of being a good citizen. And he shouldn't judge Muslims based on others fault. 'Till judgement day, only the God can judge them.

First of all, check your own mindset. Remember, de-humanizing others is the first step towards behaving inhumanly ourselves :)

As for the Pope's statements... He read from an old text which basicly said that Islam was violent and intolerant.
The Islamic world reacted with... intolerance and violence. Sounds like he was proven right to me.

I would expect nothing less than the Pope to defend his religion and criticize others. He HAS to believe that his religion is the only way to salvation and that all others are wrong. I understand why Muslims would get upset, but it's only words from - in their point of view - an infidel; they should not care what he says.

I love Islam. They give their people free things like honey toast crunch and free sheets to cover your head in the sun. I want to move to a Muslim country!!!!!
