Contacts that last for 2 weeks or a month are better than the ones that supposedly last for a year. For one thing, they're softer and easier on the eyes. You've Really got to change your contacts ASAP, you might develop an eye infection. Visit your local eye center as well for a checkup. Don't wait for the 'yearly' one. ;p

I think you should discontinue to use contacts forever, eye glasses is always the safest way to go, because the eye is a very sensitive part of the human face, anything and everything can damage the eye, and if you loose your sight, you could never get them back so you should be extra cautious about the things you put in your eyes especially when it comes to all sorts of eye drops, and the cleansing liquid for your contacts can be also harmful, if its improperly used. you need to see your eye doctor as soon as possible.. and get safe suggestions on how to better protect your eyes, believe me glasses is the best option for you.

You can absolutely hurt your eyes doing that. STOP!! I did what you are describing, and ended up with these tiny bumps on the inside of my eyelids. I had to stop contact wear for a year, and even when the bumps cleared up, I was not able to wear contacts comfortably. In fact, the last time I wore them was at my wedding 12 years ago, and taking them out that night was even more satisfying than the wedding-night sex!

Stop using these lenses. Your eyes are telling you something...they are irritated. Save your money and get laser surgery. I had very bad eyesight and finally got the surgery 6 years ago. My vision is excellent now. I need no glasses or contacts.

HI Seniors, I wear contacts, and you have to wear a fresh pair once a month. You can cause your eyes to stress out in trying to see through 6 month old contacts. What i did so i wouldn't lose a contact was,I got color contacts, and color ones is alot easier to remove from your eyes.I would never go back to wearing glasses. One thing, the glasses rubs sores spots on my nose, and it takes for ever to heal.Besides that,It looks terrible with those spot on my nose.

I would get new ones right now, you can get an infection on your eyes, and then you will have to wear glasses for a specific period of time. This happened to one of my daughters and it is also very painful. So try if you can to buy new ones or wear glasses until you do. OK?

Talk to your optomotrist about 30 day extended wear lenses. I wear purevision. I often go over the time to change them. My optomotrist told my that my eyes look like I do not wear contact at all.
However, yes, overwear can cause damage. It can create grooves in the surfase of your eyes. It can also cause blood vessels to grow over to feed oxygen to your cornea. These extra blood vessels can cause loss of sight.

If your eyes are getting red, watery and burning, you should stop wearing the contact lenses until you see your optometrist/ophthalmologist--you only have two eyes--take care of them. Thanks.
