Bush said during his UN speech that we are not at war with Islam. What does this say about the many Americans who believe or wish that we were at war with Islam, who openly state in forums such as this that they think Islam should be wiped out for the good of the world? Do you feel betrayed? Or do you think Bush is just trying to be PC?

Extremist muslims don't have to work to hard to find examples of Americans calling for genocide. I really don't feel Bush desires it either. He'll settle for pacifying them and dominating the region.
You'd think all the ultra-conservatives in this country who practically foam at the mouth when attacking Islam would hate Bush for being such a "wimp."

While Western Muslims (like myself) understand this is a war about oil not Islam, non-western Muslims think its Islam America is trying to destroy.
But here are simple facts.
Fact: We went to kill "terrorists" but we killed thousands more civilians and then made the "terrorists" kill some more civilians.
Fact: The families of those innocent civilians we killed will not be normal and WILL WANT VENGEANCE.
Fact: Terrorism is against Islam.
Question: If there were no WMD and the government has been toppled...are those "insurgents" that are fighting freedom fighters or terrorists?
***For those that wish to continue spreading misinformation about Islam (like quoting out of context Quranic verses) UNDERSTAND YOU ARE DOING THE SAME THING AL-QAEDA IS DOING. THEY MAKE THE SAME ARGUMENTS AS YOU!

Look unlike so many I believe that president Bush says what he means. I know people hate him and disagree with everything he says and some every breath he takes but he is just a man trying to do a job, he believes in his cause and there is no dark motive, he wants to keep the American people safe , I don't believe we have ever had an evil president or one who did not try to do what he felt was right for the American people. We have never had a Hitler or a Stalin , maybe that is why we have no base for comparison when we call the president evil.

I have always said we are not against Islam but we are against any terriost no matter who they are.The Muslims who want Peace need to speak up and help us catch those who have perverted the Muslim faith.Only when we can live our lives( all peoples lives) without fear of death for speaking our thoughts will we have a peaceful world. Only when we all can live as neighbors can we truly be happy..

Islam has been taken over by fascists. We are at war with Islamofascists. Not Buddistfascists or Christianfascists or Hindufascists. Muslims need to rise up and take back their religion. Why aren't they? Is it fear? If this continues to grow, will all other faiths become fearful and heed to the Islamofascists desires for world dominance?

The issue is America wants to be friends with Islam, but not the radical clerics who are sending people out to blow themselves up and take as many people with them as they can.
You need to turn off the media, open your mind, and see that America has supported, and will continue to support Islamic countries that support us. Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and India, just to name a few.
No we are not at war with Islam, just the nut cases who want to go out in a blaze of glory and get their 72 virgins for killing infidels.

I dont really know why everyone thinks Bush wants to dominate the world right now. He only has a couple more years in office and he wont be able to get anything done outside his own borders since the congress and the senate will probably not support him. These radical leaders inittiat conflicts with the US and Israel and Britain and other free nations because they have lost their political footing in their own country and need a distraction.

Those are very good words. He said something similar--and good--before Congress soon after 9/11.
But actions speak louder than words. It will take more than words to convince an angry, poor and humiliated people.
