If you take a white person who isn't ignorant and put them in a room with a black person who isn't ignorant, they'll get along just fine. The problem is that there are a bunch of ignorant black people running around saying "all whites hate us" and a bunch of ignorant white people running around saying "all blacks are worthless" and then you get racial issues. See, I'm not racist, but I think the world would be better off without all of the dumb, ignorant people in it (and it doesn't matter what color they are).

Because there have been created so many stereotypes about blacks by whites that it seems to be impossible to overcome that.
Stereotypes
1.blacks are better at basketball, whites are better at math
2.blacks are using drugs and drink a lot
3.black girls get pregnant and use the system
The system was deliberately set up in a manner where the average white person will perceive the assistance given to blacks as them using the system.
Blacks do not drink or use drugs more than whites. The only difference is that whites can pay for better treatments, blacks do not have that kind of money--blacks also do not commit more crimes---but if they do, they will get the max where a white gets off with probation...so the prisons are full with blacks, and the above explanation is why.
Blacks are not better at basketball and whites are not better at math. My son excelled in math--he reads mathbooks like others read novels, and my son happens to be black.
Try to live with these stereotypes if you are white and they are imposed by blacks!!
Racism is a very ugly thing, created originally bey white slavebrokers, who stripped the black men off all their clothes and saw their huge thing. Since men measure their manhood in the size of their penis, those guys felt inferior--and since they had the upper hand they used that upper hand to brutalize these Africans who had done nothing wrong, who didn't know why they were brutalized like that---and from there on the problem was created and became permanent. White man took everything from them: their dignity, their family, their children---and then white men raped their women, produced offspring and sold their own children as slaves---I wouldn't be able to get along with people who think that it is their right to be white and a black person's fault that they are black. In fact, I only get along with people who think like me---anyone else can get out of my vision field---but the fact remains: the government, consisting of powerhungry white geezers set up the system to make it look like blacks use and abuse the system, and the people always fall for it. It costs money to use drugs or drink, and that's where you are going to find the drug dealers and addicts as well as the alcoholics: in areas where there is money middle class and upper middle class in particular.
As far as gangs go: they have to have something they belong to and can identify with--unfortunately these gangs are brute--but that's why a lot of them join a gang, and once in them, they can't get out--if they try they will get killed---so no matter what, if you are black in this country you are screwed. But, we could get along if we gave them what we take for granted...

I'on know, maybe because some people are still disappointed with the outcome of the war or were raised that way. I live in a small town in south Georgia and the only thing i dislike about it is racism is apparent. I have white friends who i hang out with whose parents disapprove of anything to do with black people. They've told me that there parents threaten them saying that if they bring a black person home (as in marriage) they weren't welcome home anymore. What a messed up world we live in...

I live in the south, and i think the main reason down here is the past. As every one knows in the past african american ppl where considerd propertty and now alot of the ppl still do but you have to understand some of the african american ppl (not just them but any persuasian) live in a "dog eat dog" environement around drugs and sex its not there fault or just ther nature.

I get along with all people no matter what color.Like that hot guy said on the cheetah girls movie-"black white red porta rican or asian it don't matter who you are in the hip hop nation" I really don't listen to hip hop but I get along with anyone who is a nice person.

Hey, I get along with everybody. When I was growing up, I had black and white friends. Nobody thought there was anything wrong with that. I'm glad that my parents raised me to be color blind. Life's too short to make enemies based on appearance.
