we just read this book for my english class and i was supposed to discuss how odysseus' curiosity got him into trouble with a classmate but i didnt get the chance. got any examples of how is curiosity got him into trouble and like dangerous situations?

oh, i should have said that what i got so far is about how he was curious to see the cyclops, and about the sirens, but i need some more examples.

The Odyssey is a metaphor for the greed of humans and how this changes during the maturation process from childhood to old age and what different types of objects in process and in turn become the objects of current lust/need.

Odysseus needed to hear the Sirens' song, but just had his men tie him to the mast.
About Odysseus' men, they wanted to know what was in the bag (that Poseidon gave Odysseus), so they opened it without their captain's permission and ended up blowing the boat all the way out again!

It was his curosity that started it all. In the beginning of the story he is curious about an island. When he gets there he finds out that it is the home of a cyclops, one of posidon's sons. in oder to free themselves they blind the cyclops and escape. For revenge Posidon, god of the ocean, makes sure that it takes a long time for him to get home.

yep yep. I read this book for school last year too. Member that blonde lady who turned the crew into pigs and stuff. He was curious about that place, and the siren girls, who sang.
