I have black hair and a dark beard, but the shadow is always there. You would be amazed how many people like that look though! I wouldn't worry about things I couldn't change.

I have dark hair and have found a way to rid myself of "the shadow" at least till mid-afternoon.
The first thing I did was to throw away the cans upon cans of shaving creams that I have tried over the years.
Then I bought the lightest skin moisturizer that can be found and use it in place of shaving creams/gels.
I also use the 5-bladed razor and shave in every dierction.
The only way that I can believe that this works is because ordinary creams/gels will not moisterize the skin like the lotion will. Another bonus to this is that your razors will last longer.
