because people are terrified of being alone. we are programmed to believe that we need to find our "soul mates" and that everyone needs to be married. if you do find someone, then great, but not having a spouse or significant other is fine too. i think that people who learn to be happily alone are better in relationships because they dont try to cling to a miserable situation just to have someone else around.

For that .1%. It also bites you in the *** when you are not looking for it, or even wanting it for that matter.. It seems that bite is the best.
