Except for His actual day of birth,Jesus or his family or apostles
never celebrated His Birthday. The true origins of Christmas have to do with the Romans trying to placate the first century Christians
by combining the pagan celebration of the winter solstice with the Christians desire to honor the birth of who they believed is
God or the son of God or both or ...(well actually they still can't even agree on just who Jesus is i.e. is Jesus ,God,the son of God
or part of a Trinity) Most Christians do agree his death and
ascent ion is more important, though don't tell the retail world
as many billions depend on x-mas's importance. Many Christians
will also agree that Jesus preached quite the opposite of material
"things" and thier value.Quite a paradox isn't it?Don't hold your breath and expect Christmas to change anytime soon. And with
all due respect there are some good things about the holiday.I
personally haven't celebrated X-mas for over 25 years now and
find it one of the most relaxing times of the year.A lot like being in the center of a hurricane.

Christmas is a religious holiday. How are you going to keep religion out of it. Xmas takes Christ out of Christmas; that's about as far as you can go. A little babe in a manger is still the center of great controversy.

Here's a good idea! Why don't you stay away from places that associate religion and Christmas? If you see something you don't like then don't look at it! If your not a believer then what does it matter anyway? You should be laughing instead of standing on your soap box preaching. In a way you kinda look like the very thing you detest??

How can you keep religion out of Christmas when...
1) CHRIST is the center of a religion, and it's in the word
2)Christianity is how the holiday came to be
3)If you really think about it, if it we got rid of religious holidays, all we would have left would be halloween, 4th of July, and a few other minor holidays.

the theory it may purely be one or the different of your definitions is ridiculous. Christmas interior the twenty first century is especially lots divorced from the origins of all its ingredient aspects. So I have fun it for what that's at present and experience it very lots. Are you people going to end those infantile "traps" which you attempt to set? you haven't any longer have been given any theory how silly you're making yourselves look. and you incredibly do no longer choose from now on of that.

Uh, Christmas IS religion, it's Jesus Chist's Birthday. Christ-Mass. Christmas is the Mass celebrating his birth. If you want santa clause and rudolph, and the man with the little red bag, go to Macy's.

I can't! I love Christmas because it is a time to celebrate the birth of Christ. That's what makes it special for me, so if I did what you ask and kept Christ out of it--it would not have the significance and warmth and peaceful feeling for me. And I want to enjoy it.
